“The Veteran’s Day of the Fight for Independence Day of the Republic of Poland concert was organized for the sixteenth time. The first took place in 2004, on the 65th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II on the initiative of the late Gdańsk President Paweł Adamowicz. This year the Baltic Opera sat over 200 people – veterans, but also the younger generation of Gdańsk residents ”

“Veteran’s Day of the Fight for Independence of the Republic of Poland was established in 1997 by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. It falls on September 1. On this day Poles pay homage to the defenders of their homeland and remember all those who died fighting on Poland on the battlefields. In Gdansk because of the special the character of the group that is honored, concerts on this occasion are moved to later September. ”
